Angela Faye Brown

Owner & Chief Legal Strategist

I am the managing partner of Angela Faye Brown & Associates, PLLC located in Austin and Houston. As the firm’s lead attorney in family law, I am dedicated to helping clients prioritize their children in the difficult business of divorce and child custody.  I have nearly twenty years of experience in working with or legally representing youth and parents, and it is my priority to ensure that children and parents get through legal proceedings (and all life-changes) with as little trauma as possible.

Before opening this firm, I also spent years working closely with homeless teenagers at Lifeworks at their teen and youth homeless shelters.  This experience inspired me to further commit to aiding families with children. The firm currently works with clients on custody, divorce, visitations, enforcement of custody and child support, protective orders, adoptions, and LGBT family issues.  We are dedicated to helping our clients and will support you in doing what is best for you and your family.

I am originally from Vicksburg, Mississippi but moved to Texas as soon as I could.  I am from a huge close nit family and I travel to visit them whenever possible.  I’m close to my parents and three sisters, as well as my many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Family holidays can be busy and chaotic, but I really wouldn’t have it any other way.

As an avid Texas football and basketball fan, I love going to games as often as I can and I regularly stay up late watching college basketball. I enjoy dancing and karaoke on nights when I’m not at home with my partner being entertained by our gregarious toddler.

In my time off, I enjoy spending time outside (yes, in that southern heat!!).  I enjoy taking my daughter to the park, going camping, and fishing for crappie in Louisiana with my Dad.

How Am I So Different?

As Founding Attorney, I was able to build the law firm that I believed needed to exist. Angela Faye Brown & Associates is unique because I decided to risk the business and be honest about who I am.

Long before law school, I cared about how law and policy impacts children. I earned public policy degrees and a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. During law school, I took up children’s issues as a student attorney in the Children’s Rights Clinic.

Under the supervision of such legal luminaries as Jack Sampson (he literally wrote the book on Texas family law), I represented children who’d been removed from their homes in Child Protective Services cases. These children showed me the courage, confusion, and concern found inside every child in trouble.

At our firm, we are all very committed to our individual families and that makes this concern for little ones take on new meaning at our firm. It’s personal for us as it is for you. As much as the legal industry rewards the “bulldog attorneys” who turn everything into a drawn-out trial, our primary concern is those children.

We are honest about that because you deserve to know who you’re working with. We fight when it’s time to fight, and we negotiate when it’s time to make a deal. Whatever empowers you to be a better parent, we’ll do it. We just need you to trust us and to take the next step.

How Am I So Different?

As Founding Attorney, I was able to build the law firm that I believed needed to exist. Angela Faye Brown & Associates is unique because I decided to risk the business and be honest about who I am.

Long before law school, I cared about how law and policy impacts children. I earned two public policy degrees and a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. During law school, I took up children’s issues as student counsel in the Children’s Rights Clinic.

Under the supervision of such legal luminaries as Jack Sampson (he literally wrote the book on Texas family law), I represented children who’d been removed from their homes in Child Protective Services cases. And now I’m a mom, and this concern for little ones takes on new meaning. It’s personal for me as it is for you. As much as the legal industry rewards the “bulldog attorneys” who turn everything into a drawn out trial, my primary concern is those children.

I’m honest about that because you deserve to know who you’re working with. I fight when it’s time to fight, and I negotiate when it’s time to make a deal. Whatever empowers you to be a better parent, I’ll do it. I just need you to trust me and to take the next step.
